There is hereby adopted by the city council, for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from mechanical installations, that certain code known as the International Mechanical Code recommended by the International Code Council, being particularly the 2006 edition thereof, and its appendixes, supplements and changes thereto as they occur. A copy of the code has been and now is filed in the office of the city secretary, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein.

Within said code, when reference is made to the duties of a certain official named therein, that designated official of the city who has duties corresponding to those of the named official in said code shall be deemed to be the responsible official insofar as enforcing the provisions of said code is concerned.

Appeals from the decisions of the mechanical official shall be taken to the city council.
