It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or cooperation to keep or cause to be kept any breeding sow or boar hog within the city limits. The annual Hall County Livestock Show and Auction shall be exempt from this prohibition in which these prohibited hogs may be allowed to be kept at the show barn no more than three (3) days past the annual event. Anyone that raises or purchases baby pigs to show at local, state or national livestock shows will be allowed to keep show pigs within the city limits. All the rules and regulations regarding permitting shall be followed, with the exception of fee exemption for show animals only. All keeping of show animals including pigs (swine) shall be required to obtain livestock permits, per city ordinance.

(a) 
All livestock, fowl or poultry of any kind, are to be permitted within the city at city hall with the exception that under no circumstance shall a breeding sow or boar hog be kept within the city limits. Any person desiring to keep livestock, fowl or poultry of any kind, within the city limits shall make an application to the city for permit, which shall expire on December 31st following issuance. The permit may be renewed annually by submitting a revised application.
(b) 
If any resident living in the city limits adjacent to the pens files a written complaint with the city, there will be an investigation which could result in removal of the livestock, fowl or poultry of any kind.
(c) 
The animal control officer will inspect the location and any unsanitary conditions or unregistered livestock, fowl or poultry of any kind, will be cited as a code violation.
(d) 
The city shall retain the right to revoke any permit if it finds the premises are being maintained in an unsanitary condition so as to constitute a public nuisance or violation of the permit conditions. Upon revocation of the permit, the animal control officer will deliver the revocation of permit notice to the current permit holder and the permit holder will have ten (10) days to remove the livestock of any kind from said premises.

Each place in the city used for keeping any livestock shall be kept free of offensive odors, flies and rodents, and shall have a suitable manure box or container in which all manure and droppings shall be placed daily. Each such box or container shall be securely screened or otherwise protected from flies, vermin and rodents and shall be cleaned out and disinfected at least once a week. Manure from such boxes shall not be left in open stacks but shall be removed or buried.

(a) 
It shall be unlawful for any person to keep any fowl or poultry within any structure in the city without scraping the floor of the structure and thoroughly cleaning the area every 48 hours and so maintaining such structure or enclosure that no offensive odors are emitted therefrom.
(b) 
The interior of such structure where fowl or poultry are kept shall be disinfected at least once in each calendar month to discourage insects, fleas, mites and flies.
(c) 
It shall be unlawful for any person to keep on any lot or parcel of land within the city any fowl or poultry of any kind, sex or description in an area with less than ten (10) square feet of floor or ground area for each fowl or rabbit.
