It shall be hereafter be unlawful for any person to fire off
or discharge any gun, pistol, rifle or other firearms of any description
within the corporate limits of the city, except BB guns or air rifles.
This section shall not apply when such firing is done in the necessary
and lawful protection of one’s person, premises, or property,
unless such firing be recklessly or negligently done.

It shall be unlawful for any person to hunt with a bow and arrow
within the corporate limits of the city.

The provisions of this article shall not apply in the following
situations:
(1) Police
officers while in performance of their official duties.
(2) Where
a special permit application describing in detail the request of the
applicant has been filed with the city secretary, reviewed by the
chief of police, and approved by the city council.
(3) Where
blank cartridges are used to indicate the beginning of a sporting
event under the auspices of the schools or when such sporting event
is in conjunction with other activities approved by the city council.
