There is hereby created the office of public works director
for the city. Said public works director shall be appointed and removed
by the city council with no established term of office.

It shall be the duty of the public works director to maintain
the city public works systems, i.e., the water system, street system,
drainage system, etc., and to ensure that all rules and regulations
of the city Code of Ordinances applicable to said public works systems
are properly administered and enforced. Said public works director
shall also have all duties conferred on him or her by the city council.

The public works director shall be compensated by whatever arrangement
the city council deems to be in the best interest of the city.
