There is created the office of municipal court clerk in and
for the city. This clerk shall have the duties imposed by section
29.010 of the Government Code, as amended or replaced by future legislation.
The clerk shall have all the powers and authority granted by state
law, and work under the supervision of the municipal court judge.

The amount of compensation to the clerk shall be set from time
to time by the city council. The clerk shall be appointed from time
to time by the city council, to serve at the pleasure of the city
council. The city council may remove a clerk at any time for any reason
not prohibited by state or federal law.

The clerk of the municipal court, prior to taking office, shall
take the oath of office required by the state constitution and state
laws.
