§ 37-7 Appointments.

[Amended at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. I)]

All applicants for appointment to or for promotion within the Fire Department shall be qualified for appointment or promotion as required by law, ordinance and civil service rules and regulations.

§ 37-8 (Reserved)

§ 37-9 Promotion to Captain.

Firefighters with three years of prior service in rank shall be eligible for promotion to Captain.

§ 37-10 Promotion to Battalion Chief.

Captains with one year of prior service in rank shall be eligible for promotion to Battalion Chief.

§ 37-10.1 Promotion to Deputy Chief.

[Added 2-6-2023 by Ord. No. 23-1]

Battalion Chiefs with one year of prior service in rank shall be eligible for promotion to Deputy Chief.
