The customer shall furnish and install the service connection from the Town's water distribution main to the curb or property line of the premises abutting the street, thoroughfare, utility right-of-way or easement. The Town will furnish a meter of suitable capacity at customer's cost. The charge for new service shall be established by the Council. Only a licensed contractor may install a service connection from the Town's main to the customer's premises.
(Ord. 35, 1967; Ord. 318-01)
The service extending from the distribution main to and including the meter, whether located on public or private property, is the property of the Town. The Town reserves the right to repair, replace and maintain the service connection and to remove it upon discontinuance of service.
(Ord. 35, 1967; Ord. 318-01)
The service connection, including the meter and meter box, or service valve, shall be repaired and maintained by the Town at its expense but the Town is not responsible for the installation and maintenance of water lines beyond the end of its service.
(Ord. 35, 1967; Ord. 318-01)
Separate premises under single control or management shall be supplied through separate individual service connections unless the Town elects otherwise. Each applicant is responsible for payment of charges for water furnished to combined units supplied through a single service connection.
(Ord. 35, 1967; Ord. 318-01)
Extension of water mains within the service area may be initiated by the Town or by a person within the service area. The cost and procedure for such extensions shall be established by resolution of the Council.
