If no sewer exists in the street and it is necessary to construct a private sewer to connect with a sewer in an adjacent street or alley, it must be laid in the street on which the buildings front and not through intervening lots or under buildings.
(Ord. 28, 1966; Ord. 318-01)
Except as otherwise provided in this division, every building must be separately and independently connected with the sewer. Where two or more buildings on the same lot belong to the same owner and the frontage of the lot does not exceed 50 feet, a separate sewer connection with the main sewer is not required. No two owners of adjacent lots fronting on the same street may join in the use of the same lateral sewer.
(Ord. 28, 1966; Ord. 318-01)
When there is a house in the rear of a lot and an additional house is built in front on the lot, then the same sewer may serve both buildings. This same rule applies where the conditions are reversed and the front building is the first built, or where both are built at the same time.
