The selection of Directors of the Fire Access Maintenance District (FAMD) shall be the responsibility of the FAMD and their selection procedures shall be adopted by Resolution of the City Council.

The Chairman of the Fire Access Maintenance District (FAMD) is authorized to execute contracts but only if countersigned by the City Treasurer certifying there are adequate budgeted funds and countersigned by the City Attorney or his representative certifying that the contract is authorized by this resolution and conforms to laws applicable to general law cities and Maintenance Districts. (State and Highway Code § 5820).
