In accordance with Section 36518 of the Government Code of the State of California, bonds shall be required for all City officers and employees including the City Clerk, City Treasurer and deputies thereof issued by a surety company authorized to do business within the State of California for the faithful performance of their duties of their respective offices or employment in the aggregate penal sum of one million dollars ($1,000,000).
