The city hereby creates and establishes a parks and recreation
board which shall be known as the parks and recreation board (hereinafter
“board”) for the city. The board shall serve as an advisory
board to the city council. The board shall make recommendations relating
to the parks and recreation activities of the city and its environs.
The board shall have all duties imposed upon such body by ordinance,
state statute or other applicable law. The members of the board shall
be selected by the city council. The board members shall serve at
the pleasure of the city council. The board members shall reside within
the city or its extraterritorial jurisdiction and have resided within
the city or its extraterritorial jurisdiction for at least six months
preceding their appointment. If the city is unable to find qualified
board member(s) that reside within the city or within the city’s
extraterritorial jurisdiction, the city may seek and appoint a board
member(s) that resides within the boundaries of the Liberty Hill Independent
School District.
