All regular meetings of the city council shall be held in the city council chambers in the City Hall, at No.1 Main Street, in the city on the first and third Tuesday of each month at six p.m. The city council may hold a closed session of the city council prior to six p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month immediately preceding the open session, provided that the time for the closed session is identified on the city council agenda. Such closed sessions shall be considered part of the regular meeting.

A. 
Salaries. Commencing on December 1, 2020, each member of the city council shall receive, as salary, the sum of $535 per month, payable at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries are paid to other officers and employees of the city.
B. 
Reimbursement. The salaries prescribed in this section are and shall be exclusive of any amounts payable to each member of the city council as reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred by him or her in the performance of official duties for the city.
C. 
Traveling Expenses for the Mayor. The city council may establish by resolution a monthly automobile allowance for the mayor, to be provided in lieu of reimbursement to the mayor for mileage expenses.
