At the annual organization meeting, the Board of Supervisors
shall elect, by a vote of the majority of the members, a qualified
person to serve as the Township Solicitor for one year, though subject
to termination at the pleasure of the Board. This individual shall
be well-learned in state and federal law. The Solicitor's hourly rate
compensation shall be approved by resolution at the organization meeting.
In the event of a vacancy, the Board of Supervisors shall appoint
a qualified attorney for the unexpired term.
The Township Solicitor shall perform all such duties as authorized
by the Second Class Township Code. Requests for the Solicitor's services shall be made either
by the Board through its Chair or Vice Chair or by the Township Manager
or his/her designate.
