The word "town" is eliminated from the corporate name of the
municipal corporation known as Pleasanton, and the word "city" is
substituted in its place. The municipal corporation shall henceforth
be known as the "city of Pleasanton" as of October 11, 1954, upon
filing by the city clerk of statements to this effect with the Secretary
of State, state of California, and the board of supervisors, county
of Alameda.
