There is hereby established the position
of Municipal Court Clerk. The City Manager shall appoint the Municipal
Court Clerk and as many deputies as from time to time deemed necessary.
The Municipal Court Clerk and any deputies appointed shall be employees
of the City, either on a full time or part time basis, and shall serve
at the pleasure of the City Manager. While performing their duties
as officers of the Court, the Municipal Court Clerk and deputies shall
be subject to the supervision of the Municipal Judge. The Municipal
Court Clerk and deputies shall be empowered to administer oaths, receive
and remit payment of fines, bail and appeal bonds, receive and mark
evidence for purposes of identification, act as custodians of the
Municipal Court files and records, perform the administrative duties
necessary to the daily operation of the Municipal Court, and perform
all other duties which the Municipal Judge shall direct.

The City Manager shall have the power
to appoint a City Recorder and such Deputy City Recorders as the City
Manager deems necessary. In addition to discharging other duties imposed
by this Code, the City Recorder and any Deputy City Recorder shall
have the power to administer the oath of office to all city officers
elected or appointed pursuant to the authority of the Lake Oswego
Charter.
