The Fire Chief shall administer the Department of Fire, Rescue and Life Safety as it is now or may hereinafter be entitled, constituted or organized by the City Manager. For the purposes of this Chapter, "Fire Chief" shall mean the person appointed by the City Manager to perform the functions and duties assigned to the Fire Chief by the City Manager or this Chapter, or the Fire Chief’s designee.

The Fire Marshal shall be in charge of administering the Oregon Fire Code, as adopted in LOC § 15.06.610 and shall have the authority to enforce all its provisions and requirements within the City. For the purposes of this Chapter, "Fire Marshal" shall mean the person appointed by the Fire Chief to perform the functions and duties assigned to the Fire Marshal by the Fire Chief or under this Chapter, the Fire Marshal’s designee.

The Fire Chief and any Department personnel shall have the authority to enforce emergency orders issued by the City Manager pursuant to LOC § 12.20.830.
