The Fire Chief shall be appointed or removed by the City Manager with the concurrence and confirmation of the City Council. The City Manager shall be the immediate supervisor of the Fire Chief and all policies, directives and orders to the Fire Chief shall be made by or transmitted through the City Manager.

The Fire Chief shall be responsible for enforcing applicable State and local laws and ordinances and shall direct the administration and operation of the Fire Department.
