"Business"
means any entity of one or more persons, corporate or otherwise, engaged in commercial, professional, charitable, political, industrial, educational, or other activity that is nonresidential in nature, including public bodies.
"Source-separated" or "source-separate"
means that the person who last uses recyclable material separates the recyclable material from other solid waste.
"Recyclable materials"
shall include glass, paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and jars, metal cans, scrap metal, cooking oil and motor oil and such other materials as may be so identified by applicable law or regulation in the future.

All businesses within the City shall comply with recycling requirements as set forth in this chapter.
A. 
Businesses shall ensure that recyclable materials are source-separated as follows in separate containers in internal and/or external maintenance or work areas where recyclable materials are collected, stored, or both for regular collection and recycling by the City's franchised solid waste service provider.
1. 
Glass.
2. 
Co-mingled recyclable paper, cardboard, and plastic bottles and jars, and metal cans.
B. 
Businesses shall post accurate signs that:
1. 
Describe and identify the location where recyclable materials are collected, stored, or both;
2. 
Identify the materials the business must source-separate for reuse or recycling; and
3. 
Provide recycling instructions.
C. 
These requirements do not prohibit businesses from using any recycling service providers to recycle waste oil, grease, or electronic devices such as television sets, printers and computers or other exempted materials as described in Section 8.08.020.

The City of Molalla shall adopt an intergovernmental agreement assigning responsibility to Clackamas County to provide assistance and tools to businesses to allow them to take full advantages of the integrated solid waste services available to them, and to enforce the provisions of this ordinance within the City of Molalla.
