For the purposes of this chapter, the word "skateboard" means a board of any material, natural or synthetic, with wheels affixed to the underside, designed to be ridden by a person.

The City Council may by resolution designate the entirety or any portion of any street, sidewalk, alley, parkway or City-owned property as a no skateboarding zone. Such zones shall be marked by appropriate signs.

No person shall use a skateboard within any no skateboarding zone designated as provided by this chapter. The penalty for violation of this chapter shall be a fine of not more than $100.00.
