Fire support and enforcement is critical to ensure the health and safety of citizens.

Any residential building taller than 30 feet, from the lowest ground point along the building to the tallest peak of the building, is required to install an interior sprinkler system as required by the Molalla Fire Department and Building Official.

Habitable structures shall include a sprinkling system when located on a flag lot having a flag length greater than 75 feet or where the Fire Department believes it necessary for public health and safety.

Sprinkling shall occur on all other developments if they exceed 30 feet in height or if the Building Official or Fire Marshal deems such fire sprinkling necessary for public health and safety.

Fire hydrants shall remain unobstructed and clear of debris at all times.
B. 
Fire hydrants shall be required at the time a street is improved in new development or redevelopment.

Public fire hydrants shall only be painted red or yellow.
B. 
All public fire hydrants shall require a 4-inch Stortz connection as required by the Molalla Fire Department.

Private fire hydrants shall be painted orange. Private fire hydrants shall be required to provide a 4-inch Stortz connection if required by the Molalla Fire Department.

Ornamental fire hydrants shall not be placed in such a manner as to be mistaken for a workable fire hydrant. Ornamental fire hydrants shall also not be red, yellow, or orange in color or resemble these colors.

Fire hydrant locations shall be identified by the installation of reflective markers. The markers shall be blue. They shall be located adjacent and to the side of the center line of the access road way that the fire hydrant is located on. In case there is no center line then assume a center line, and place the reflectors accordingly.
B. 
This shall be required on all new development where the road way is added or improved upon.
