The office of Code Enforcement Officer of the City of Artesia is hereby created and established. The Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by the City Manager and shall meet the qualifications established for the position by the City Manager. The Enforcement Officer shall have the authority and duty to enforce the provisions of the Municipal Code and ordinances of the City of Artesia and the following provisions of the California Vehicle Code:
(a)
Articles 1 and 9 of Chapter 2, Division 3;
(b)
Chapters 9 and 10 of Division 11.
Pursuant to California Penal Code Section 836.5, the Enforcement Officer may make arrests for violations of such Municipal Code, ordinances and statutes, and may issue citations for infractions and misdemeanors pursuant to California Penal Code Chapter 5c (commencing with Section 853.6) and Chapter 1 of the Artesia Municipal Code.
