The official seal of the City hereby adopted shall be as follows:
The seal is constructed in a circular shape inside of which there is a smaller circle. The outermost edge of the seal is bordered by two lines twisted in a rope like affect.
At the top of the seal in large letters, between the inside circle boarded by a solid black line and the outermost border are the words reading: "CITY OF LOMPOC." At the bottom, in smaller letters, shall appear the words "Incorporated August 13, 1888." Both shall be printed within the curvature of the circle.
The inside circle consists of a pictorial view, representing the Lompoc Valley. Covering approximately two-thirds of the bottom half of the circle is red, white and blue flowers, which act as a foreground devise to lead back to the middle of the circle where stands the Mission La Purisima, with its tile roof and flat adobe walls. Just to the left and a little forward of the mission shall stand a missile placed in a firing position on its gantry.
Behind the mission and the missile are low rolling hills with green trees in various positions on the hills. Behind them are larger mountains, which have more pointed peaks.
The sky in the upper third of the circle is centered by a large body of stars, arranged in tight disc like shape with other stars sprinkled throughout the rest of the sky.
From the left shooting to the right is another missile in full flight, leaving a trail of vapor in its path.
At the top of the inside circle in the same circular curve are the words, in solid letters reading, "Gateway to the Stars."
