(a) The
office of clerk of the City of Escondido is hereby created as an appointive
position, as provided in California
Government Code Section 34856.
The city clerk shall be appointed by the city manager, and the city
manager shall further provide for the salary, office, support, supervision
and removal of the city clerk, as necessary for the proper functioning
of the office.
(b) The
city clerk shall have all of the responsibilities, duties and functions
as specified by state law and this code.
