Each city council member shall be entitled to an annual compensation
of thirty-five thousand dollars and the mayor shall be entitled to
an annual compensation of thirty-eight thousand five hundred dollars
commencing on the effective date of Ordinance 1204. Council members
and the mayor shall be entitled to the same cost of living increase
as may be provided from time to time to those city employees who are
subject to the memorandum of understanding by and between the city
and the Rancho Mirage Employee Association.
Provided that the following benefits do not exceed the most
generous schedule of benefits being received by any category of non-safety
employees of the city, each council member shall be entitled to the
following benefits: (1) a monthly five hundred dollar car allowance;
(2) a monthly five hundred dollar in-lieu stipend to any council member
who does not accept the medical coverage that is currently available
to council members; and (3) a one hundred dollar in-lieu stipend to
any council member who does not accept a city-paid cell phone.

In accordance with
Health and Safety Code Section 33114.5, the
compensation for redevelopment board of directors is established to
be thirty dollars per member for each meeting attended by the member.
No member shall receive compensation for attending more than four
meetings of the agency during any calendar month.

The compensation for members of the library board of directors
is established to be fifty dollars per member for each meeting attended
by the member.
