For the purpose of establishing proper regulations for building construction, the Uniform Housing Code, 1997 Edition, otherwise identified as the International Conference of Building Officials Housing Code, 1997 Edition (hereinafter referred to as the "Housing Code" or "UHC"), is hereby adopted and made a part of this Code by reference, subject to the modifications hereinafter set forth.

Section 203 of Chapter 2 entitled Housing Advisory and Appeals Board is amended to read as follows:
Section 203.1 General. In order to provide for final interpretation of the provisions of this Code and to hear appeals provided for hereunder, there is hereby established a Board of Appeals consisting of members of the City Council of the City of Live Oak. The Building Inspector shall be an ex officio member of and shall act as Secretary to said Board. The Board may adopt reasonable rules and regulations for conducting its business and shall render all decisions and findings in writing to the appellant with a copy to the Building Inspector. Appeals to the Board shall be processed in accordance with the provisions contained in Section 1201 Chapter 12 entitled appeal of the Housing Code. Copies of all rules or regulations adopted by the Board shall be delivered to the Building Inspector who shall make them freely accessible to the public.
