Public Safety Officers, the Building and Safety Manager (Building Official), Senior Building Inspector, Senior Code Compliance Inspector and Code Compliance Inspectors designated by the City Manager shall have the duty to enforce those provisions of the Norwalk Municipal Code as the City Manager may designate or assign. Pursuant to California Penal Code Section 836.5, these designated public officers and employees may make arrests for violations of those provisions of the Norwalk Municipal Code which are designated by the City Manager, and may issue citations for misdemeanors pursuant to California Penal Code Chapter 5C (commencing with Section 853.5) and this chapter of the Norwalk Municipal Code for violations of such provisions of the Code.
