The city treasurer shall perform all usual and ordinary services imposed by the Government Code of the state of California, as it now exists or as hereafter amended, and all duties imposed by ordinance or resolution of the city council, and such other duties as the city manager shall direct not in conflict therewith.

The city treasurer, upon assuming the duties of office, shall execute a bond to the city in conformity with the provisions of the Government Code of the state of California relating to bonds of public officers. The amount of the bond shall be in the penal sum of twenty-five thousand dollars.
