The office of the city treasurer is created.

The city treasurer shall perform all usual and ordinary services imposed by the Government Code of the state of California, as it now exists or as hereafter amended, and all duties imposed by ordinance or resolution of the city council, and such other duties as the city manager shall direct not in conflict therewith.

The office of city treasurer may be combined with any other office in the city not inconsistent therewith.

The city treasurer, upon assuming the duties of office, shall execute a bond to the city in conformity with the provisions of the Government Code of the state of California relating to bonds of public officers. The amount of the bond shall be in the penal sum of twenty-five thousand dollars.

The office of the city treasurer is declared to be a part-time function.

The city treasurer shall be appointed by the city manager, in accordance with the city Personnel Policy Manual at the time of such appointment.
