There is created a Planning Commission consisting of seven members appointed by the Mayor with the approval of a majority of the City Council. The powers and duties of the Planning Commission shall be defined in Section 17.08.020(B)(2).

A. 
The terms of office of each member of the Planning Commission shall be four years.
B. 
The terms of office for each member of the Planning Commission shall continue to and include June 30th of the year in which the term shall expire, and thereafter until a successor for the member whose term is expiring has been appointed.

Notwithstanding the appointment of any person to the Planning Commission of the City, a member of the Planning Commission may be removed during his or her term of office by either of the following methods:
A. 
The Mayor, subject to the approval of the City Council;
B. 
A majority vote of the City Council.

The regular meetings of the Planning Commission shall be held in the Council Chambers, Civic Center, 300 East Chapman Avenue, Orange, California, or at such other place as may be designated by the Planning Commission, on the first and third Monday of each month at a time established by resolution of the City Council. In the event any such Monday is a legal holiday, such meeting shall be held the following Thursday.
