A.
Method of Selection and Term of Office. The method of selection and appointment, and the term of office of members of boards, committees, and commissions, shall be as set out in the ordinance or resolution of the board of supervisors establishing or approving such agency.
B.
Exceptions. The provisions of this section shall not be applicable to any agency where a different method of selection or term of office is specified by state law, County Charter, or this code.
C.
Continuation in Office. All persons holding an office with a definite term shall continue to serve in that office until a qualified successor has been appointed and assumes office.
D.
Vacancies in Office. In the event of a vacancy during a term of office caused by resignation or other reason, and following the required posting of vacancy, a successor appointee shall be selected in the manner provided herein and shall serve the unexpired term of his or her predecessor in office.
E.
Removal. Except as otherwise specifically provided by state law, any appointee may be removed by a majority vote of the entire board of supervisors.
F.
Supervisorial Vacancy. In the event of a supervisorial vacancy during a term of office caused by resignation of a supervisor or other reason, any supervisor appointed to fill the unexpired supervisorial term shall be entitled to declare a vacancy in any appointive office where the appointee to the office is required to be a resident of that supervisorial district, or is otherwise qualified to be a representative of the district, and may nominate a successor to be considered for appointment for the unexpired term of such office.
G.
Supervisorial Boundary Change. In the event of a change in supervisorial boundaries resulting in an appointee to an office requiring residence within a specific supervisorial district no longer residing within that district, persons in office at the date of such boundary change shall continue to serve for the balance of their term of office and may, in the sole discretion of the board of supervisors, be reappointed to represent the area previously served.
