Effective March 8, 2010, and during the time when the City Hall remodeling and civic center construction are being undertaken, meetings of the city council shall be held in the meeting room of the Senior Citizen/Community Center located at 201 East Bonita Avenue. Meetings of the city planning commission and other boards and commissions shall be held in locations to be determined by the separate board or commission.

Regular meetings of the city council shall be held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the hour of seven p.m., or if such day falls on a holiday, on the next succeeding day which is not a holiday. All meetings of the city council shall be open to the public.

A. 
Purpose. The ordinance codified in this section is enacted pursuant to Section 36516 of the Government Code, authorizing the council to provide by ordinance that each member of the council shall receive a prescribed salary, the amount of which is based upon the population of the city as determined by the last preceding federal census or estimate validated by the State Department of Finance.
B. 
Population. As of the date of passage of the ordinance codified in this section, the latest estimate of population of the city of San Dimas made by the Department of Finance is thirty-four thousand seventy-nine.
C. 
Last Adjustment. Inasmuch as the last councilmember salary adjustment was approved in 2008 and became effective in 2009, the salaries adopted herein are authorized pursuant to the authority of California Government Code Section 36516.
D. 
Salaries. Each member of the city council of the city shall receive, as salary, the sum of one thousand fifty-four dollars per month, which shall be payable from and after the operative date of this section at the same time and in the manner as the salaries are paid to other officers and employees of the city of San Dimas.
E. 
Reimbursement. The salaries prescribed in this section are and shall be exclusive of any amounts payable to each member of the council as reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred by them in the performance of official duties for the city of San Dimas and other amounts as payment for retirement, health and welfare and other benefits as are paid for by the city for its employees.

A. 
Beginning with the June 7, 2022 general municipal election, and thereafter, members of the city council of the city of San Dimas shall be elected by-district in four single-member districts with an elective mayor.
B. 
Each member of the city council elected or appointed to represent a district must reside in that district and be a registered voter in that district. Each candidate for city council must be a registered voter in the city of San Dimas and reside in the district in which that candidate is seeking election at the time nomination papers are issued to that candidate, pursuant to Elections Code 34882. Termination of residency in a district by a seated councilmember shall create a vacancy for that city council district unless a substitute residence within the district is established within thirty days after that termination of residency.
C. 
Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, the members of the city council in office at the time this section takes effect may continue in office until the expiration of the full term to which they were elected and until their successor is qualified.

A. 
Subject to the provisions of this chapter, members of the city council shall be elected by-district from city council districts shown and numbered on the map titled "City of San Dimas District Map," a copy of which shall be on file in the city clerk's office.
B. 
The city council electoral districts described in this section shall be adjusted from time to time as required by Elections Code section 21600 et seq. or by other law.

A. 
Members of the city council shall be elected in city council districts two and four at the 2022 general municipal election and every four years thereafter. Members of the city council shall be elected in city council districts one and three at the 2024 general municipal election and every four years thereafter.
B. 
Elections for the office of mayor shall not be impacted by the provisions of this chapter.
