The city manager and/or their designated representative in the Code Compliance Division shall have the power to issue misdemeanor or infraction citations only with respect to any violation of any section of the municipal code except those specific codes administered solely by the fire department and police department. The city manager and/or their designated representative acting as the fire marshal and/or fire inspector shall have the power to issue misdemeanor or infraction citations only with respect to any violation of any section of the Uniform Fire Code adopted by the Palm Desert Municipal Code. However, the city manager and/or their designated representative shall have the power to issue citations for nonmoving traffic violations.
