Pursuant to Government Code Section 50022.9, the city council adopts and incorporates by reference Chapters 2 through 10, Chapter 44 and Appendices AH, AJ, AQ, and AS of the California Residential Building Code, 2022 Edition, as published in Title 24, Part 2.5 of the California Code of Regulations.

Chapter 3 of the California Residential Code, 2022 Edition is amended, deleted or added as follows:
(a) 
Section 301.1.3.2 is amended to read as follows;
R301.1.3.2 Wood Frame Structures. Pursuant to Business and Profession Code §§ 5537 and 6737.1, construction documents must be approved and stamped by a California licensed architect or engineer for all dwellings of wood frame construction more than two stories and basement in height located in Seismic Design Category A, B, or C and more than one story in height or with a basement located in Seismic Design Category D0, D1, or D2 or E.
(b) 
Section R313 of the Residential Code is deleted in its entirety and replaced with Chapter 9 of the California Fire Code as adopted and amended by Monterey Park Municipal Code Title 17 Fire Code.
