The fire department of Slaughterville, Oklahoma, is a volunteer fire department which may have in its employ not more than two full-time salaried firefighters, and that it shall be comprised of not less than 12 nor more than 25 members.
A.
For the purpose of this ordinance a “volunteer firefighter” means a person who is enrolled as a member of the fire department and who serves in such capacity without receiving a regular salary. A person who is a salaried public safety employee of a municipality shall not serve as a volunteer firefighter of a volunteer fire department unless the person is off-duty and such service is not a condition of employment. A public safety employee is a person employed to serve as a salaried firefighter, police, or other law enforcement officer or emergency medical technician.
B.
“The fire department’s standard operating procedures and guidelines” shall mean those procedures as adopted by the Slaughterville fire department, which are amended from time to time by vote of the Slaughterville volunteer firefighters.
Volunteer members of the Slaughterville volunteer fire department shall abide by the standard operating procedures and guidelines of the fire department and shall be subject to the following rules and regulations. |
