To comply with the provisions of Article 5, Chapter 1, Division 1 of the State Streets and Highways Code, with particular reference to the amendments made thereto, by Chapter 652, Statutes of 1965, there is created in the city treasury a special fund to be known as the "special gas tax street improvement fund."

Money received by the city from the state, under the provisions of the Streets and Highways Code of the state for the acquisition of real property or interest therein for, or the construction, maintenance or improvement of streets or highways other than state highways shall be paid into the fund created by this chapter.

All money in the fund created by this chapter shall be expended exclusively for the purpose authorized by, and subject to, all of the provisions of Article 5, Chapter 1, Division 1 of the Streets and Highways Code of the state.
