The purpose of this chapter is to establish a procedure for
zoning property upon annexation.
Unincorporated territory adjoining the City may be pre-zoned
for the purpose of determining the zoning that will apply to such
property upon annexation.
Zoning of property to be annexed shall be either:
A. Established through initiation and processing according to the procedures established under Chapter
30.235, General Plan and Zoning Amendments; or
B. RS-1A pursuant to Chapter
30.20, Residential Zones.
The zoning of the property to be annexed shall become effective
at the time that annexation to the City becomes effective pursuant
to
Government Code Section 56000 et. seq. If the subject area has
not been annexed to the City within five years of the date of City
Council approval, the zoning approval is subject to reconsideration
by the Planning Commission and the Council.
