A. It is
unlawful for any person to discharge any rifle, gun, shotgun, pistol,
revolver or other firearm, or any air rifle, BB gun, pellet gun, spring
gun, or other instrument from or by means of which any bullet, shot,
pellet or other missile of any kind may be projected, or any other
dangerous or deadly weapon, within the corporate limits of the city.
B. The
provisions of this section shall not apply to the use of firearms
at a bona fide target range, gun club, or organizations or educational
institutions authorized to give military instruction while such firearms
are being used as a part of such instruction.
C. Nothing contained in this section shall apply to or prevent the use and firing of weapons, as referenced in subsection
A of this section, by duly appointed peace officers or animal control officers while acting within the scope of their employment or in the performance of their duties as such peace officers or animal control officers, nor by licensed pest control entities or exterminators, acting within the scope of their license upon approved permit.

Any person violating any provision of this chapter or failing to comply with any of its requirements shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be punishable as provided in Section
1.16.010.
