A person commits the crime of assault if he or she knowingly or recklessly causes bodily injury to another person, or with criminal negligence the person causes bodily injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon.

It is unlawful for any person to throw a stone or other missile at any person, animal, vehicle, bicycle, public or private property, building, structure, tree or shrub, other than in the normal course during an athletic or sporting event. As used in this section, missile means any object or substance.
