It is the intent of this chapter to qualify the county for reimbursement from Peace Officer's Training Fund for the investigators regularly employed in the office of the district attorney of the county, pursuant to the authority granted by Title 4, Article 3 of the Penal Code of the state of California.

The board of supervisors, as governing body of the county, commits the county to adhere to the standards for recruitment and training established by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and to allow the Commission and its representatives to make such inquiries as deemed appropriate by the Commission to ascertain that the county is adhering to POST standards in the recruitment and training of investigators regularly employed in and paid by the office of the district attorney.
