As used in this code, unless a different meaning is apparent
from the context or is specified elsewhere in this code:
means the area within the territorial city limits of the
city of La Verne and such territory outside of the city over which
the city has jurisdiction or control by virtue of any Constitutional
provision or any law.
means the city council of the city of La Verne.
means the ordinance code of the city of La Verne.
mean respectively chapter, title and section of this code.
means and includes affirmation.
means natural person, firm, corporation, cooperative corporation,
organization, company, association, business, trust, joint stock company,
mutual water company, partnership, joint venture, club, county or
any other political subdivision of the state of California, or the
agent, servant, manager, officer, employee or lessee of any of them.
means the use, carrying or holding of a lighted pipe, cigar
or cigarette of any kind, including any type of electronic and/or
battery-operated cigarette, an electronic smoking device or vaporizer
device (regardless of product name or descriptor), the use of which
may resemble smoking, which can be used to deliver an inhaled dose
of tobacco, nicotine or other substance.
