The members of the Regional School District No. 10 Board of Education representing the Town of Harwinton shall be elected in the same manner as other Town officers at the November municipal election as provided by Connecticut General Statutes § 10-46(c) and at subsequent municipal elections thereafter as follows:
A. 
The member whose term of office commences July 1, 2013, shall be elected at the May 2013 Town Meeting to serve until November 30, 2013. The member's successor shall be elected at the November 2013 municipal election for a term of four years commencing December 1, 2013, to serve until a successor is elected and qualified.
B. 
The member whose term of office commences July 1, 2014, shall be elected at the May 2014 Town Meeting to serve until November 30, 2015. The member's successor shall be elected at the November 2015 municipal election for a term of four years commencing December 1, 2015, to serve until a successor is elected and qualified.
C. 
The member whose term of office commences July 1, 2015, shall be elected at the May 2015 Town Meeting to serve until November 30, 2015. The member's successor shall be elected at the November 2015 municipal election for a term of four years commencing December 1, 2015, to serve until a successor is elected and qualified.
D. 
The member whose term of office commences July 1, 2016, shall be elected at the May 2016 Town Meeting to serve until November 30, 2017. The member's successor shall be elected at the November 2017 municipal election for a term of four years commencing December 1, 2017, to serve until a successor is elected and qualified.
E. 
Thereafter, all members shall serve four-year terms commencing December 1 and shall be elected at the November municipal election in accordance with the schedule established herein.
F. 
All members shall be electors of the Town of Harwinton, and upon ceasing to be an elector, such member shall cease to hold office and a vacancy shall be deemed to exist.
If a vacancy occurs in the office of a Harwinton member of the Region 10 Board of Education, the Town shall, at a Town Meeting, elect a successor to serve until the next general municipal election, at which time a successor shall be elected to serve any unexpired portion of such term.
If the General Assembly subsequently changes any of the dates of such terms or elections, this article shall be deemed to conform therewith so as to ensure that the Harwinton members of the Region 10 Board of Education shall continue to serve in office until such time as a Town Meeting can amend this article to conform with the legislation.
If the number of Harwinton members of the Region 10 Board of Education is increased, the new member(s) shall be elected at the next municipal election, if there is sufficient time, and if not, then such member(s) shall be elected at a Town Meeting until the next applicable municipal election.
