A. 
In general.
A vehicle height monitoring system may not be used except in accordance with and subject to the prerequisites, standards, procedures, requirements, limitations, and other provisions of;
(1) 
The state enabling law; and
(2) 
This article and the rules and regulations adopted pursuant to this article.
B. 
No more than six vehicle height monitoring systems may be operational at any one time.
The following vehicle types are exempt from enforcement by a vehicle height monitoring system;
A. 
School buses;
B. 
Public transit vehicles;
C. 
Emergency vehicles;
D. 
Government vehicles;
E. 
Utility and home energy company vehicles;
F. 
Commercial transit vehicles;
G. 
Well drilling trucks;
H. 
Moving company vehicles;
I. 
Septic service trucks;
J. 
Tree service trucks;
K. 
Trash and recycling trucks; and
L. 
Package delivery vehicles.
A. 
A violation recorded by a vehicle height monitoring system is subject to a civil penalty as provide in the state enabling law.
B. 
The Harford County Sheriff's Office and its deputies are authorized to perform law enforcement duties consistent with the state enabling law.
C. 
The Director of the Department of Public Works may adopt regulations to carry out the purpose of this article.
