A. 
A certain document, one (1) copy of which was placed on file in the office of the City Clerk, said copy being marked and designated as the NFPA National Electrical Code, 2020 edition, as published by the National Fire Protection Agency, as amended, be and is hereby adopted as the Electrical Code of the City; and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions, and terms of the NFPA National Electrical Code, 2020 edition, as published by the National Fire Protection Agency, are hereby referred to, adopted and made part thereof, as if fully set out in this Article with the additions, insertions, deletions, and changes prescribed in this Article.
B. 
Jurisdictional Titles Throughout the NFPA National Electrical Code, 2014 edition, as published by the National Fire Protection Agency. Wherever the terms "Name of Jurisdiction" or "Local Jurisdiction" appear, it shall be deemed to mean "City of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri."
C. 
Wherever the term "Chief Electrical Inspector" appears, it shall mean the Code Enforcement Officer of the City.

A. 
The NFPA National Electrical Code, 2020 Edition, as published by the National Fire Protection Agency is amended by addition, deletions and changes including the changing of Articles, Sections, Subsections and Subsection titles and the addition of new Sections and Subsections so that such amended and added Articles, Sections and Subsections read as follows:

210.8 Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter Protection for Personnel.
(A)
(add exception to #2)
(2) Exception: Garage door opener receptacles not installed in readily accessible locations.
(add exception to #5)
(5) Exception: Sump pump receptacles must be a single dedicated outlet (not a duplex) and only when a sump pump has been installed.
2. 
230.67 Surge Protection. (delete section).

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provisions of this Article or who shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, construct, alter or repair a structure in violation of an approved plan or directive of the Code Official or of a permit or certificate issued under the provisions of this Article or shall start any work requiring a permit without first obtaining a permit thereof or who shall continue any work in or about a structure after having been served a stop work order, except for such work which that person, firm or corporation has been directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition shall upon conviction thereof be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
