A. 
The City of Berkeley offers a free transportation option to Senior residents for local transportation to the Civic Center on Wednesdays as well as for Community trips on Fridays, including other activities or events approved by the City Council. The transportation service is a free privilege provided by the City to help accommodate the seniors and create a welcoming space and community for them. Failure to follow the below rules can result in probationary measures and or suspension from service usage.
B. 
Transportation is a first-come first-serve service. Reservations shall be made with the receptionist at the minimum of one (1) week before the date needed. Persons should be ready for pickup at least thirty-five (35) minutes before requested time of pickup. Reserved time of pickup should be at least thirty-five (35) minutes before appointment time plus allotted travel time. Reservation times for City events will depend on the individual event/activities. Transportation vehicles might have multiple riders at any given time.
C. 
By agreeing to use the City of Berkeley Senior Transportation Service, patrons are aware and understand that issues may arise that are not under the control of the driver, director, other patrons, or City employees. Certain issues may cause them to be late to pick-ups. Remember, this service is a privilege, and can be revoked at any time.
D. 
Times of pick-up can be altered or canceled due to inclement weather or other unforeseen disruptions of service. Riders will be notified via emails or phone numbers provided, as soon as possible.
E. 
Questions or concerns may be brought to the attention of the Parks and Recreation Director.
F. 
Rules. Residents using the community bus service will follow the below rules at all times:
1. 
Remain respectful, polite, and kind to all other patrons using the service.
2. 
Remain respectful, polite, and kind to all employees of the City of Berkeley.
3. 
No outside solicitation, programs, projects, or activities without approval from the Parks and Recreation Director.
4. 
Zero tolerance for all acts of harassment (sexual, verbal, or physical) and intimidation. Any form of harassment will lead to immediate suspension of service and skipping of probationary period.
G. 
Failure to abide by the above rules will lead to probation or suspension of the service for said resident as follows:
1. 
3-Month Probation.
2. 
3-month Suspension followed by 6-Month Probationary period.
3. 
6-Month Suspension followed by 1-Year Probation.
4. 
1-Year Suspension followed by 5-Year Probation.
5. 
Permanent Suspension of Privileges.
H. 
Probation. Period of time in which behavior is strictly monitored. Reports of unruly behavior during probation will result in immediate suspension of service usage.
