There is hereby created and established, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 26:3-3, a board to be known as the "Health Advisory Board of the Township of Irvington."

The members of the Health Advisory Board shall serve without compensation. The Board shall consist of five members. Three members of the Municipal Council shall serve as the members of the advisory Board. There shall be one member of the Board who shall serve as the Board Chairperson and shall be appointed for a period of one calendar year. There shall be two members appointed by the Council for terms of one calendar year; one health professional (e.g., doctor, nurse, health educator, Health Director or otherwise) and one nonvoting student member or community member to be appointed by the Township Council for a term of one school/calendar year.
In the event of a vacancy on the Health Advisory Board occurring during the unexpired term of office, a member of the Council shall be appointed as a member of the Health Advisory Board to serve the unexpired term.
