Pursuant to the provisions of Section 118.0 of the Massachusetts
State Building Code, no permit shall be issued by the inspector of
buildings until the required fee has been paid to the city collector
in accordance with the schedule of rates set out in Table I of this
revision.

The provisions of the State Fire Code and State Building Code are incorporated and adopted by reference in this section. Any violation of such state codes shall constitute a violation of this section as well as a violation of Title
8, Chapter
8.04, Section 8.04.22A and subject to the penalties set forth in Chapters
1.12 and
1.16.

The Stretch Energy Code, as codified by the Board of Building Regulations and Standards as 780 CMR Appendix 115.AA, including any amendments or modifications, is adopted by the City and herein incorporated by reference in this section. This Stretch Energy Code shall be in effect as of January 1, 2012. Any violation of such Stretch Energy Code shall constitute a violation of this section as well as a violation of Title
8, Chapter
8.04, Section 8.04.22A and subject to the penalties set forth in Chapters
1.12 and
1.16. The building inspector shall enforce the Stretch Energy Code.

All persons applying for an electrical permit for all new construction,
where substantial renovation is involved, or any alterations to an
existing electrical service, or any change in the use or occupancy
of the structure, shall be required by the wire inspector, to install
an outside electrical disconnection device to shut down electrical
power to the structure in the case of an emergency.

All contractors shall be required to install a new sidewalk
or repair a damaged sidewalk in front of a new home, or repair a damaged
sidewalk in front of a renovated home before a certificate of completion
is issued and before the contractor can sell the house. The new sidewalk
should conform with the existing sidewalk on the street; and if the
existing sidewalk is dirt, then the contractor shall be required to
install an asphalt sidewalk.
