The Select Board shall appoint a Director of Community Development and Planning for a period of three years. The Director shall have the authority to appoint such employees as the Director's work requires, subject to number and compensation only to the approval of the Select Board.
The Director of Community Development and Planning shall manage the operations of and be responsible for a wide range of activities and duties, including but not limited to land use planning, housing policy, transportation projects, historic preservation, community development, sustainability efforts, open space conservation programs, administration of regulatory boards and neighborhood improvement efforts.
