The Building Inspector shall be appointed by the Mayor and shall serve at his or her pleasure. He or she shall receive such compensation as the Council may from time to time direct.

It shall be the duty of the Building Inspector to enforce and carry out the provisions of this article, and he or she is hereby vested with all the powers of the Building Inspector as stated herein. It shall be the duty of the Building Inspector to enforce and carry out the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance and similar regulations. The Building Inspector is hereby vested with all of the powers and duties prescribed in the Zoning Ordinance, and he or she shall exercise such other and further duties and powers as may be now or later conferred upon him or her by ordinance or other provision of law.
