Shingle Mill Road is hereby designated a scenic road under the provisions of § 7-149a of the Connecticut General Statutes. The Town of Harwinton shall not pave Shingle Mill Road or widen the traveled portion of the road. Nothing in this section shall relieve the Town of Harwinton from the obligation of maintaining Shingle Mill Road in its safe condition through normal applications of gravel and fill, grading, snowplowing, sanding, and removing of dangerous trees.

This section is adopted pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes § 7-149a, as amended. A petition has been filed with the Town Clerk signed by the owners of a majority of lot frontage abutting Hayden Road between Hill Road on the east and Wildcat Hill Road on the west requesting this designation.

Hayden Road is hereby designated a scenic road under the provisions of § 7-149a of the Connecticut General Statutes. The Town of Harwinton shall not pave Hayden Road. The Town of Harwinton may make future alterations and improvements to Hayden Road, including, but not limited to, widening of the traveled portion of the road within the Town's current right-of-way, changes of grade, straightening, installing necessary drainage systems, removal of stone walls and removal of mature trees. Nothing in this section shall relieve the Town of Harwinton from the obligation of maintaining Hayden Road in good and sufficient repair and in passable condition. Nothing in this section shall be deemed to prohibit a person owning or occupying land abutting Hayden Road from maintaining and improving the land which abuts Hayden Road if the maintenance or improvement occurs on land not within the traveled right-of-way of Hayden Road.
