The office of Master Heavy Equipment Operator in and for the Borough of Paramus is hereby created, subject to the provisions of this chapter.
The Master Heavy Equipment Operator shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council.
A. 
A person who possesses the necessary ability to operate all equipment used in the Department of Public Works and Shade Tree Departments. Such equipment shall include but is not limited to, horizontal grinder, hot box, packer garbage truck, automated garbage truck, roll off truck, stump grinder earth saw, whirlwind sweeper, three wheel sweeper, loader, skid steer, ditch work, asphalt paving box, big and small roller, trammel, ditch witch, automated vac truck, z spray pesticide operators licenses and trainer fertilizer applicator, etc.
B. 
Must possess a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement.
C. 
Must possess and maintain DOT Medical Card.
D. 
Any individual appointed to Master Heavy Equipment Operator shall immediately be subject to a ninety-day probationary period, wherein they are expected to show efficiency with all operating equipment.
The Master Heavy Equipment Operator shall receive such compensation as shall be fixed, from time to time, by the general salary ordinance of the Borough of Paramus.
