There shall be a Conservation Commission for the Town in accordance with MGL c. 40, § 8C for the promotion and development of the natural resources and for the protection of wetland resources of the Town.

The Conservation Commission shall consist of seven voting members, all of whom shall be residents of Groveland and all of whom shall be appointed by the Select Board, to staggered terms of three years.

The Conservation Commission may recommend to the Select Board an appointment of up to three non-voting associate members, who shall not count towards a quorum. The associate member holds value to the Commission in an advisory capacity and in a quasi-training role to become a new member when a vacancy or reappointment occurs. The associate member shall be appointed for a one-year term.
